Degenerative Disk Disease

Many people don't know that I have Stage 3 Degenerative Disk Disease. I don't always use a wheelchair, in fact I try to push myself to go without (probably harder than I should), but some days I am just exhausted and in too much pain.

I'm not completely incapable of doing things, but I am limited and because of this, working for someone else outside the home is not an option for me.

Degenerative disk disease occurs when your spinal disks break down. This disease is dibilitating and doesn't improve over time. Unfortunately, there is no cure.

Degenerative disc disease can be a painful and frustrating condition that can worsen in certain situations, so patients must limit activities, and watch what they eat.

What Are The Stages of DDD?

There are four main stages: Stage 1: the dysfunction stage, Stage 2: the dehydration stage, Stage 3: the stabilization stage, and Stage 4: the collapsing stage.
